Sacraments – Baptism & Holy Communion

If you are a FPC member with an infant or young child who has not been baptized, we encourage you to partake in registering your infant or child for baptism.  As a family begins making plans to have a baptism at First Presbyterian Church, please make reservations via email to Bonnie Tyler at least eight weeks prior to the requested baptism date to allow for necessary approvals and publications, and to receive a copy of a booklet about baptism in the Presbyterian tradition.

Children and Adults may also be baptized.

If you are a non-member and want your infant or child to be baptized:   FPC follows the PC(USA) Book of Order in that at least one parent must be an active member of the congregation.  However, you may schedule a baptism for an infant or child as a non-member who is planning to become a member prior to the date of the baptism.

For more information on how to join, please visit our “How to Join” page.

Please email your baptism requests and any questions to Bonnie Tyler or call 574-234-4159.

For Presbyterians, communion (The Lord’s Supper) is one of two sacraments instituted by our Lord.  FPC celebrates communion on the first Sunday of every month as well as other special services throughout the year.  Everyone is welcome at the Lord’s table.
